Anne of Green Gables
Book Cover
Inspired by Anne's playful nature, I centered the book around her affinity for flowers. The Tiger Lily symbolizes her friendships, as she often likened the lilies around her friends. The floral emboss that surrounds the entire book reflects her unruliness and flower obsession. The frame represents the Victorian era in which the book takes place and the attempts during the time to confine her to the societal expectations of a lady.
Typesetting
In the book, Anne's charisma and easygoing nature are prominent traits. To showcase this, I've incorporated floral ornaments into my folios as a nod to her beloved charm. The large size of the folios mirrors her standout personality.
Barteldes, my chosen display typeface, complements her playful side with its organic features, while still maintaining a clean look to symbolize her growth throughout the story. Alda, my body copy typeface, was selected for its lightness and rounded features, making it easy for readers of all ages to enjoy without distraction.
